At this time in my life it is very hard not to be absolutely terrified of the future. It is like a voice in the back of every teens head screaming at them that time is ticking. But I think that it is good that most kids aren’t sure about what they want to be. We don’t even know who we are yet to be able to decide what we want to do for the rest of our lives. Everyday we are changing. I change my favorite color every year! If I can’t even stay loyal to a color, how can I commit to one career path so early in life? The point is, I feel like we spend too much time worrying about the unknown. All we can do is make good decisions now, and hope for the best. Take time to do the things that you want to do. Go hang out with your friends, binge on Netflix, and laugh more often. Don’t get caught up in a world that doesn’t even exist yet. You will know what is best for you when that time comes.
You can not live up to everyone’s expectations. Remember that you are only one person and you can’t satisfy everyone. You are human and you will disappoint people and people will disappoint you. Do not feel bad about yourself for not being able to do everything right. Mistakes are going to happen and people are always going to be there to kick you down. It is your decision whether or not you will get up from that and ignore those people and just do you. Do not give them the power to ruin your whole day or even a second of your life. They are irrelevant to your life and you are the star of the show. Run it how you want.
